Google released an update that will allow you to hide ads. After years of criticism and accusations from users, the tech giant has begun to address some of the most important problems on the web, such as notifications in Chrome and excessive search advertising. Regarding the latter, Google will make structural changes to improve the user experience.
In a post on its advertising and commerce blog, the company said it will be implementing new controls over search advertising. From today Google all text ads will be grouped under one label which will remain visible when scrolling down the page. The label will be larger to make it clear that this is sponsored content.
Likewise, Search Google will add a new button that lets you hide text ads with just one click. The user simply clicks “Hide Sponsored Results” and they will be removed from the search, leaving only organic results. The new rules apply to both text advertising and products presented in the “Shopping” category.

According to the company, new design makes navigation easierfocusing only on organic results that appear naturally on the search page. Google has made it clear that will not change the size or number of adsalthough he said the new design improves visual clarity and is compatible with search, which activates AI review.
After years of criticism, Google will remove advertising from its search engine
Control over advertising emerged during the transition to artificial intelligence. As more users use ChatGPT to search for content or ask questions, Google is trying to solve some of the internet’s structural problems. For years, users have noted that sponsored ads are too well hidden among organic resultswhich has created confusion and mistrust.
In some cases, you have to go to the second or third page because Search Google gives priority to those who pay and not to those who will answer the question you asked or show the product you were looking for. The new Sponsored Content label is now larger and always remains visible, and the hide results button will always be visible. an alternative to returning to the Internet in 2005.
While this change leaves behind the idea that Google has destroyed the neutrality of search by prioritizing paid content, we at least acknowledge that the company is trying to balance things out and become more transparent. The settings will be Available today on all computers and mobile devices.
