The People’s Bank of Belarus (BNB-Bank) will stop serving non-residents who have become clients of the credit institution by proxy from September 26. This is indicated in the bank’s message.
We are talking about the suspension of account and card contracts, and remote service to said clients will also cease. BNB-Bank explains its decision based on the provisions of Belarusian legislation, as well as “criteria for identifying and identifying suspicious financial transactions.”
Due to the changes, the bank recommends transferring funds to another account or withdrawing the remaining funds in the office.
Last fall, Canadian authorities imposed sanctions on the Belarusian bank BNB.
