Yandex has launched the Yandex Shift service for temporary workers, RB.RU drew attention. It was headed by the co-founder of the Qlean cleaning services ordering service Nikita Repeshko.
The company’s website says that with the help of Yandex Shifts, artists can find part-time work at a convenient time and place, and companies can meet the need for artists. Smena positions itself as an information service and services are provided by partners. Only the self-employed can access the assignments.
Orders are available in Moscow and the region, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan and Voronezh. There are tasks to display products, assemble orders, issue purchases at pickup points and more.
Payment for the task is set by the client and the income is made up of a fixed part and a variable part. The fixed part is transferred the day after completing the space according to the details, and the variable part is credited to the account three days after completing the task or later, after Yandex receives the client’s information.
According to the service itself, the daily income of a self-employed worker can amount to 3.4 thousand rubles.
The closed Telegram channel “Yandex Market PVZ” also reports that for Yandex Market PVZ owners, the commission for Yandex Shift services has been “reduced to 20%.” No other data on the size of the commission is provided.

The Russian market already offers services for working with freelancers and individuals. Thus, GigAnt provides similar services, and until May 2023, Rocket Work was engaged in the selection of freelancers and individuals (the press service of the service informed RB.RU about the suspension of work at this address).
There are a large number of platforms for finding freelancers: Profi.ru, YouDo, Yandex Services, Kwork and others; the general director of the digital solutions development studio for the School of Business Products, Kliment Kuzmin, lists other services.
“We do not pay commissions to candidate search platforms and, in principle, we are not willing to pay them,” said Kuzmín. “To find freelancers, we are potentially willing to consider the Yandex Smena service to compare it with other platforms.”
The founder of the premium cleaning franchise and director of the SSClean company, Elena Gershenzon, believes that the emergence of services like Yandex Shift is convenient for companies when they need to immediately and urgently transfer personnel to shifts during peak periods. “Or, for example, use these services to find non-key personnel; in my company it could be couriers, drivers or film assistants,” she added.
SSClean uses the services of freelancers, but describes this work format as “more of a necessity than a conscious choice.” Gershenzon found it difficult to name a comfortable commission for working with services like Yandex Shift, noting only that “filling” is important here, the ability to see in advance the specialist’s portfolio, his skills, his readiness to learn and the occupied spaces .
