Russian carmaker AvtoVAZ has signed an agreement with an Ethiopian company to produce Lada cars in the African country. The Ethiopian ambassador to the Russian Federation, Cham Ugala Uriat, spoke about this.
According to the diplomat, Russian Lada cars will soon appear in Ethiopia’s neighboring countries, as the country will begin producing cars for the markets of Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia and Kenya.
Uriat, in an interview with TASS, noted that other Russian manufacturers are also showing interest in cooperating with Ethiopia. Two of them are carrying out consultations.
AvtoVAZ, along with Sollers and Moskvich, joined the US sanctions list in September.
