Valve announced the beginning of a “new era” of its most popular online shooter – the release of Counter-Strike 2.
The game has been transferred to the Source 2 engine. All main maps have been updated to take into account innovations, including a new rendering and lighting option. Some maps were redesigned from scratch.
Players are no longer dependent on periodic server updates. The new architecture allows the server to instantly determine that the player has taken a step, made a shot, and many other actions.
Smoke grenades have been updated. The smoke became more voluminous and began to transmit light particles and accelerate from bullets.
New in-game store interface
Many visual effects have changed, including the effects of water, explosions, gunshots, fire, and so on. The interface has also been changed.
Sounds have been completely redesigned. Valve says they better convey the environment and give players more information about what’s happening on the map.
Finally, the rating system has changed. To increase your rating, you need to play in the updated Premier mode. A gamer’s position in regional and regional standings is now determined by skill.
You can download Counter-Strike 2 right now for free on Steam.
