The European consultancy Brand Finance has published an annual ranking on the value, strength and sustainability of brands in Europe – Brand Finance Europe 500 (2023), – where the Russian Sber became the leader in terms of brand strength among the banks, and also entered the 40 most valuable brands (becoming the fourth most expensive directly among banks).
In terms of brand value, Deutsche Telekom was first in Europe, valued at €60.7 billion, followed by Mercedes-Benz (€56.7 million). Swisscom can boast of having the strongest brand (Sber is the leader among banks in this indicator and in the general ranking it occupies the seventh position, ahead of Michelin, Lamborghini and Rolex).
In terms of brand value among banks, Sber is in fourth place after HSBC, Santander and Barclays, and overall – in 37th place. The national company Gazprom is in 105th place, VTB is in 175th place, and Russian Railways is in 197th place. .
Among Russian brands, the rating also includes Pyaterochka, Magnit, Smirnoff, Yandex, Tatneft and Megafon. We also learn from the ranking that Nespresso has changed its brand value the most and Porsche has the highest sustainability value (SPV).
