Safari has also received updates to allow greater collaboration between users, so the Shared Tab Group feature will make it possible to create a series of tabs that can be viewed and edited by different people. For example, you can create a group of Safari tabs to view content with your friends.

Live Text has been updated to recognize characters in videos – until then the feature only worked on images. Visual Look Up is also getting the update and offers more possibilities to brand users.

The M1 processor allows for some new features for Image Zoom so consumers will be able to increase the screen pixel density to better view apps, especially when using the Split View feature. iPadOS 16 also adds Virtual Memory Swap, a feature that lets you use iPad storage to expand memory in apps – up to 16GB for the most demanding apps.
The preview version of iPadOS 16 for developers is available now, and the beta version will arrive to consumers next month.
