Google has announced the latest smartphones Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

Both devices received a new generation single-chip Tensor system – G3 (one Cortex-X3 supercore, four Cortex-A715 and four Cortex-A510). It is complemented by the Titan M2 security chip. The RAM in the Pixel 8 costs 8 GB, and in the firmware it costs 12 GB.

Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch OLED display with up to 2000 nits of brightness, a 120 Hz refresh rate (up from 90 Hz) and support for Gorilla Glass Victus.

The Pixel 8 Pro features a 6.7-inch OLED display with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 2,400 nits peak brightness. Protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 LED glass.

The main camera module of the Pixel 8 Pro is built on a 50 MP sensor with improved image stabilization. There is also a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle module and a 48 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. All cameras have phase detection autofocus.

In addition, a Melexis MLX90632 temperature sensor appeared in the firmware next to the camera. It only measures the temperature of objects and is not used for anything else.

Pixel 8 has a new 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with autofocus and macro support. Nearby there is a 50 MP main camera with 8x Super-Res digital zoom.

The Pixel 8 Pro has a 5050 mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging and up to 23W wireless charging. The Pixel 8 has a smaller battery with a capacity of 4,575 mAh and supports 27W fast charging and 18W wireless charging.

The cost of Google Pixel 8 with 128 GB of memory is $699, Google Pixel 8 Pro will cost $999. Pixel 8 buyers receive Pixel Buds Pro, while Pixel 8 Pro buyers receive a Pixel Watch 2.
