According to a study, the number of freelance and project-based programmers has quadrupled in the last two years. The average income of such specialists has more than doubled, and the need for them among companies has increased 2.5 times.
The number of programmers involved in the project work quadrupled between 2021 and 2023, according to a study by the independent service Solar Staff.
During the first quarter of this year, the number of IT specialists working in the state of the people increased by 61%. Its average bill increased by 86% compared to 2022 to 144 thousand rubles. Compared to 2021, the growth is even more remarkable: 259%.
The number of programmers who worked as freelancers, on the other hand, decreased by 23%. The number of IT specialists registered as sole proprietors decreased from 20% in 2022 to 16% in the first quarter of this year.
In general, the average income of programmers in 2023 amounted to 537.9 thousand rubles – 41% more than in 2022.
To obtain the results of the study, Solar Staff analyzed the anonymous data of its clients: more than 300 companies from all over the world that work with freelancers and about 8 thousand freelancers from Russia and the CIS.
