In addition to Xanxo Gaming, TechPowerUp has posted a comprehensive review online ahead of the official release date of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. One key difference: Compared to its Peruvian counterparts, TPU tested Intel Alder Lake CPUs with ddr5 memory, which should work in favor of the blue team.

The difference between AMD and Intel seems smaller than with Xanxo Gaming: the 5800X3D performs on average 0.4% faster than the 12900K in ten games at 1080p, while the KS version performs 0.2% better than the Ryzen chip. The performance level of these processors can be said to be almost equal in this case.

As with Xanxo, there are some games that use 3D V-Cache avidly: In Far Cry 5 and Borderlands 3, the 5800X3D is about 37% and 43% faster than the regular 5800X. In the case of the i9-12900KS, the difference drops to 11 percent and 14 percent, respectively, in favor of the new Ryzen sku. But as expected, the 5800X3D has slower clock speeds so it loses to its younger sibling in workloads that don’t take advantage of the extra L3 cache.

The performance difference varies greatly by game.

TPU concludes that the latest Ryzen 5000 series is a worthy counterpart to Intel’s 12000 series in terms of gaming. If you’d like to read the full review, you can do so via this link.
