Rumors about the development of a touchscreen Mac have been going on for years. But did you know that such a poppy already existed?

YouTuber MJD has obtained a prototype of a 1999 iMac with a touch screen. Its creator company, Elo, also sold touch versions of the iMac G3 software through Apple reseller Value Value for use as kiosks.

The custom iTouch device, designed as an add-on for the Mac, used surface acoustic waves instead of overlays to detect where users touched the screen.

According to rumors, the Cupertino team is still working on such devices, but it is unknown whether they will be published.
