Vkusville installed the first ecological battery exchanger; The retailer will give bonuses for your return. You can find it in the Vodny shopping center in Moscow, the company reported in a statement.

Vkusville began accepting batteries for recycling.

“Vkusville” first installed ecological exchangers in March this year, intended for the delivery of caps. There are now more than 100 such devices, located in Vkusvilla stores and partner locations.

The principle of operation of the device is the same as that of lid eco-exchangers: the user inserts the batteries into the hole, the device reads that it is a battery, after which the eco-exchanger counts their number and displays the information on the screen.

After this, the user will have to enter the phone number linked to the Vkusvill loyalty card and within 24 hours the bonuses will be automatically credited to the card. Currently, the battery return “fee” is as follows: 0.35 bonuses = 1 battery, limit is 19.95 per day.

The eco-exchanger accepts the following battery types: AA, AAA, AAAA, A23, cigarette batteries and AA batteries (Li-ion, Ni-MH, Ni-CD).

The collected batteries are sent to Chelyabinsk to the Megapolisresurs company, which is engaged in the processing of household batteries and accumulators. In the factory, the batteries are crushed and the valuable components are separated: iron, zinc, manganese and graphite. The resulting raw materials are sent to secondary production: new batteries, white paint and even baby powder.

Vkusville is looking for new sites to install ecological exchangers; Plans include testing and installing eco-friendly battery exchangers in the retailer’s stores.
