The State Duma of the Russian Federation approved in the first reading a bill on the self-prohibition of citizens from granting consumer loans. Information about this is published in the legislative support system.
According to the bill, citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to prohibit themselves from providing consumer loans under agreements with banks and microfinance organizations. An exception to the rule would be loans secured by a car or a mortgage.
Citizens may establish a ban on their personal account in the State Services or the MFC upon presentation of their SNILS.
If approved, the law will take effect on July 1, 2024.
