Twitch has added an option to block viewers on video streams. Content creators can now block specific users from viewing their streams. Twitch responded in this way to requests from streamers who complained of harassment and “digital harassment.”
Content creators on the video streaming platform Twitch can now block specific users, preventing them from viewing their streams. This was reported by TechCrunch.
Twitch first announced this option in August 2023. The platform then noticed that streamers were receiving many complaints about harassment and “digital harassment” from viewers.
Blocking access to streams only works if the viewer is logged into their account. If you log out of your account, you will be able to see the stream you were blocked from. However, you will not be able to leave comments in the chat.
In July, Twitch announced the appearance of “stories” on the platform. Streamers will be able to limit their visibility, allowing access only to subscribers.
