Wildberries, after a meeting in the Prosecutor General’s Office with the Central Bank and Rospotrebnadzor, decided to cancel the 3% commission when paying with Visa and Mastercard cards. The Marketplace featured it on October 10. The money already withheld will be returned to customers.

Wildberries will stop charging a 3% commission when paying with Visa and Mastercard

The site’s press service also added that the marketplace does not charge any fees for the return of products of inadequate quality, but if an item that is not defective is rejected, it “returns the cost excluding the costs of reverse logistics.”

Starting October 10, Wildberries introduced a 3% fee for Visa and Mastercard payments. The company explained this as a reward to the bank that processes the payments.

The Attorney General’s Office then decided to verify on the site the data on commissions for payments with Visa and Mastercard cards and the refunds paid.

The Marketplace previously introduced a commission for payments with these cards: two years ago, paying for purchases with Visa and Mastercard was accompanied by a 2% commission. Payment systems then threatened banks with fines of up to $1 million.
