Photos of Merkava tanks taken on Sunday showed that some now have strange metal roofs over their guns.

These cages, called “coping cages” or “control cages”, have previously been seen on Russian equipment in Ukraine.

Experts believe that such “cages” can be used to protect against quadcopters carrying grenades and other ammunition.

Drones have drastically changed the nature of warfare. Moreover, we are talking not only about expensive and large drones such as the American Reaper or the Turkish Bayraktar, but also about smaller, cheaper quadcopters adapted for both surveillance and weapons.
