Apple is developing a new version of HomePod with a full touch display. A unique prototype was published by a collector under the nickname Kosutami.

The prototype has the index B7207. Externally, it is similar to the 2nd generation HomePod.

The LcdUTest application is displayed on the speaker screen. This is a technology application used by Apple engineers to test new graphics cards.

The new HomePod runs on a tvOS-based control system. The company has rewritten several apps from tvOS so that they appear correctly on the HomePod display.

When music is displayed on the screen, there will be a blurry Google animation that matches the color of the album cover. Notifications will also be shown on the screen.

It’s worth noting that this is just a HomePod prototype. Apple may change the design of the speakers or shift the project. [9to5Mac]
