The Ministry of Digital Development and hh.ru plan to create a single certification center for IT specialists

Previously, certification was carried out by training centers of Western vendors: Oracle, Red Hat, VMware and others, but after 2022 they stopped working and a niche remained vacant.

These centers issued documents confirming the skills to work with the company’s products. The certification was paid, its presence provided advantages when applying for a job.

Currently, the volume of the IT certification market is estimated at 300 million rubles, with growth potential of up to 1 billion rubles by 2024.

The discussion on “the creation of an independent technological platform on the basis of Headhunter LLC, which includes objective data on the state of the labor market for IT specialists” should take place on October 27, according to sources of the publication.

One of the interlocutors of the IT market suggests that hh.ru was chosen as a technological platform, since “the company has already created a ready-made competency map, described and verified 46 IT professions and 310 skills in them, and verified salary data .”

The Ministry of Digital Development noted that the technological platform for the certification of IT specialists has not yet been selected and there is no final decision on the implementation of the project.
