DOM.RF and the Urban Pro design and analysis center use big data from mobile operators, including Beeline, when developing a spatial development strategy for the territory (master plan) of the Cheboksary agglomeration.
As part of the analysis preparation, the Beeline Business Big Data & AI team analyzed the territories of the cities of Cheboksary and Novocheboksarsk, as well as the Cheboksary, Morgaushsky, Mariinsko-Posad and Tsivilsky districts during the day and night of the Wednesday and Sunday. .
The analysis showed that during the night of a weekday in Cheboksary there are 6% more subscribers than during the day. As for the satellite city of the Chuvash capital, the city of Novocheboksarsk, the dynamics of demographic changes remain unchanged: the night population of the city exceeds the day population by 27%. Using this data, Urban Pro analyzed the daily and weekly dynamics of population changes with a spatial reference to the base station network. The processing was carried out using aggregated and anonymized data analysis technologies.
In the project, the analysis of mobile operators is part of a comprehensive urban study and helps identify infrastructure needs in urban areas. Taking into account the functional zoning of territories within urban agglomerations is one of the key factors in making rational decisions on the development of residential and commercial buildings, public spaces and recreational facilities, the redistribution of traffic flows and the creation of a comfortable environment for all groups. of the population.
At the moment, Urban Pro has received updated information on the actual boundaries of the Cheboksary agglomeration, has completed the formation of a vision and mission for the development of the agglomeration and is developing a list of priority projects.
It is expected that the spatial development documents developed will become a management tool that helps the territory to increase the flow of investment for integrated development. Completion of the development of the master plan for the Cheboksary agglomeration is planned for January 2024.
“The master plan is an element of strategic territorial planning using big data, which has proven itself in the capitals of the world and in several Russian regions. Similar documents serve as the basis for urban planning in Dubai, Manchester, New York, Vienna, Berlin, Sydney and the territory of the former Berlin Tempelhof airport, thanks to the master plan, has become a huge green and leisure area.
In Russia, master plans have already been drawn up for almost 30 cities, including Derbent, Astrakhan, Yakutsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Magadan, Vladivostok and Ussuriysk. At the beginning of next year, Cheboksary will also have such a document. “I am glad that Beeline is taking part in a project that will undoubtedly change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people living in the republic and will affect the tourist attractiveness of the region.”— Konstantin Romanov, Director of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Products at VimpelCom PJSC.
