Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi said his department would suspend any cooperation with SpaceX if the company provides access to the Starlink satellite system to help the Gaza Strip. Israel is confident that the system will be used not only for humanitarian purposes.

Israel has vowed to break cooperation with Starlink to provide Internet to the Gaza Strip.

“Hamas is using it for terrorist activities. We know it and Musk knows it,” Karhi wrote in X.

The minister added that Israel “will use all means at its disposal” to fight against the supply of Starlink to the Gaza Strip. Karhi also noted that by then his department will “cut all ties with Starlink.”

The head of Israel’s Communications Ministry wrote this message in response to Elon Musk’s announcement that Starlink would provide access to connectivity to “internationally recognized aid organizations in Gaza.”

In response to Karhi’s statement, Musk wrote that, according to his data, not a single terminal in Gaza attempted to connect to Starlink.

“If this happens, we will take extraordinary measures to confirm that it is only used for humanitarian purposes,” added the billionaire.
