This change, seen at least in Gmail and Google Chat, will also be rolled out to other Google Workspace applications such as Drive, Keep, Docs and Meet in the near future.
While this change doesn’t provide significant functional improvements, it does increase the size of the touch target and allows Google apps to adhere to Material 3’s design ethics.
