Recent incidents, including a Cruise robotaxi crashing into a pedestrian, have raised serious concerns. The pedestrian was trapped under the car. Federal regulators are investigating similar incidents and reports that drones failed to display adequate warning around pedestrians.

The company said its nationwide suspension was not related to new traffic incidents and was committed to restoring public trust. They promise to examine their processes, systems and tools so they can operate more safely in the future.
