Android Studio’s statistics reveal that Android 13 is the most used version on the Google platform. A year after its launch, the system works on 22.4% of devices with the company’s system.

Adoption of Android 13 has been quite rapid, considering that the system was available on 15% of devices in the survey conducted on May 30 this year. In the current ranking, Android 11 ranks second with 21.6%, and Android 10 ranks third with 16.1%.

The popularization of Android 13 gives Google an advantage in the project of unifying the ecosystem. The company is collaborating with manufacturing partners like Samsung and Xiaomi to create more generous support programs for the latest releases.

Android 12 never shined

Despite offering many new features at the time, Android 12 has never been Google’s most used system. Almost a year before the first anniversary, in mid-2022, the system was less popular than Android 10 and Android 11.

On the other hand, Android 11 was one of the most used versions of the system for a long time. It’s unclear why it’s so popular, but the stability of the system may be one of the reasons.

Is Android 14 the next leader?

Now Google’s mission is to make Android 14 the most popular version of its ecosystem. The operating system was released at the beginning of October and has a long way to go before it surpasses its predecessor.

However, if Google’s unification campaign is successful, the adoption of Android 14 is expected to be even faster.
