Gedeon Richter began supplying Russia with analogues of foreign drugs for diabetics

Deliveries of generics have already begun, but the company has not disclosed the volumes. Vedomosti’s requests to MSD and Novartis went unanswered.

After some foreign pharmaceutical companies announced a reduction in their investments in the Russian Federation in February 2022, their competitors had the opportunity to increase their share in the Russian market. However, local producers can compete with them here, according to experts.

Thus, domestic pharmaceutical companies Medisorb JSC and Grotex LLC (Solopharm) have regulatory certificates for the production of the generic Januvia, according to GRLS. And “Galvus”, according to the listing, may be produced by OA “Alium” and “Northern Star”.

  • In March 2023, Russian scientists developed a device to monitor blood glucose levels without the need for punctures. A special glucometer is made in the form of a clip that is attached to the earlobe and measures sugar levels without having to prick them. The development itself is several years old, but now the company has launched its third crowdfunding for AnnNIGM 2, improving the original version of the device.
