The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) proposed increasing the annual income limit for self-employed workers. Now it is 2.4 million rubles.
Kommersant writes about this in reference to the union’s proposals for the draft law on the main directions of fiscal policy for 2024-2026.
The RSPP considers that it is necessary to increase this figure due to accumulated inflation and the growing demand for the services of these specialists by consumers and companies.
Since 2019, a special tax regime for self-employed workers has been in force in Russia, under which they can provide paid services, allocating 4% of income to the budget when working with individuals and 6% when working with companies. It can be used by citizens with incomes of no more than 2.4 million rubles per year.
- The number of self-employed workers has increased sixfold in the last two years. In most cases, companies from the media, advertising, education, information technology and finance sectors cooperate with them. Relocation has become one of the main reasons for the growth of the freelance market: relocated workers enter local markets and accept work from local clients. About 50% of the total number of freelancers in Russia work individually.
