Researchers examined data from many people who complained of similar conditions after sleep. If a person sleeps in a “poor” sleep – he continues to think in his sleep and remembers his thoughts and impressions, can retell various details as if he was not sleeping, but in reality, all this speaks of a mental disorder. Experts called this condition paradoxical insomnia, but its causes have not yet been determined.

It is assumed that the formation of this condition can be influenced by irritating factors: light and noise, caffeine abuse, etc. Additionally, paradoxical insomnia may be a symptom of anxiety and depressive disorders. In these cases, the production of the stress hormone cortisol is activated and obsessive thoughts may occur. As a result, the person’s circadian rhythms are severely disrupted.

To combat such situations, experts recommend turning off the lights before going to bed, eliminating all sources of noise and not smoking, drinking coffee or alcohol at night. Additionally, scientists have emphasized the importance of cognitive behavioral psychotherapy with such a diagnosis.
