German Gref was re-elected head of Sberbank and announced a new “people-centric” strategy for the organization

The President of Sberbank is elected for a four-year term by the Supervisory Board. Prior to this, Gref expanded his powers in 2019. A year later, the government bought a controlling stake in Sberbank from the Central Bank, after which the Ministry of Finance received control. At the same time, the prerogative of electing the head of the organization passed to the supervisory board.

As noted in the board report, over the years of Gref’s leadership, Sberbank has undergone a large-scale transformation, and the effectiveness of the top manager and his team is obvious to clients, partners and investors alike. .

In addition to re-electing the director, the supervisory board also approved the bank’s strategy for the next three years. Its details will be presented on December 6.

According to Gref, the new strategy is very different from what the organization did before.

“We have adopted a non-trivial strategy: it is very different from what Sberbank did before. The human approach was chosen as the main theme,” Gref announced.

German Gref headed Sberbank in 2007. Frank Media sources previously reported about his upcoming re-election.
