Aquarius plans to invest 40 billion rubles until 2026 to expand production and create new products, in particular televisions, watches and smart speakers. To this end, the electronics manufacturer asks the government to partially co-finance projects, introduce sales incentives through preferential loans and limit parallel imports of foreign electronics, Kommersant writes.
The company asked the state for 10.5 billion rubles: it needs 4.5 billion rubles to increase capacity in Tver and Shuya. It is planned to spend another 3 billion rubles on the capital inflow of an Asian IT developer to access technologies, which are not reported. The remaining 29.5 billion rubles will be invested in development, production and marketing.
As a result, Aquarius expects to occupy 20% of the laptop market and 7% of the smartphone and tablet market in the consumer segment. It is proposed to launch devices with Android operating system and computers with Astra Linux operating system.
According to the publication’s interlocutor, the Aquarius project seems unrealistic; Perhaps the company decided in this way to demonstrate its readiness for mass production of devices. At the same time, he believes that the state should not invest in a specific manufacturer, but it is possible to extend lending instruments to all Russian electronics developers.
