Russian dealers were unable to sell the remains of cars from brands that had left the country. For example, Kia still has the 2022 Cerato and Seltos in stock, and Volkswagen has the Taos and Tiguan, Izvestia writes.

Russian dealers cannot sell cars from defunct brands

The main reason cars have fallen behind is that they are much more expensive than at the beginning of last year, analysts say. Additionally, due to downtime, machines may require complete maintenance, possibly replacing brake discs and pads, which is an additional expense.

South Korean carmakers Hyundai and Kia will leave Russia completely at the end of the year. Salons are reorienting themselves towards Chinese suppliers. Cars from Chinese manufacturers are less in demand due to high prices. Owners say they will be able to continue servicing Korean cars, but the price of support will increase by at least 20%.
