Maria Sidorenko emphasized the importance of the center for biologists, as such collections are valuable materials for research. BCCP allows researchers to access materials to take measurements and study properties that have not previously been studied by other scientists, he noted.
This center, the first in the system of specially protected natural areas in Russia, was built taking into account the needs of scientists. Sidorenko noted that this provides an opportunity to work with materials to solve scientific problems and preserve collections from other reserves where the necessary storage conditions do not exist.
Experts transferred the craniological collection, which includes more than 5,000 specimens of skulls and other animal bones, from various reserves to the BCCP. This will allow researchers to use valuable resources to continue scientific research and preserve unique biological materials.
