Instagram finally got new filters for photos in the feed. The head of the social network, Adam Mosseri, announced the news on his platform profile this Wednesday (16).
New features include the possibility to: Create stickers using photos and videos, new editing tools for Reels, and improvements to engagement metrics.
New filters for broadcast photos
Photo filters have been available on Instagram almost since its launch, but the platform hasn’t added options in a long time. Now, More options are available in the carousel in the edit menu and can have adjusted intensity.
Special stickers for Stories and Reels
Another new feature announced this Wednesday (16) is support for personalized stickers. Now on Instagram allows you to create stickers from photos and videos saved in the gallery.
New tools for editing reels
The Reels version also gained new features. The platform experiences the following capabilities: Zoom, crop and rotate individual clips.
To streamline the editing process, the social network also included a “Do” and “Undo” button that reverts/advances the edit made to the clip.
Also for Reels, Instagram has expanded its creation options by adding 10 new narrator voices (text-to-voice) in English (only available in some countries) and the ability to add audio clips to content.
Finally, the drafts menu has also been rethought, making the process of reviewing builds more intuitive. It will soon be possible to preview posts in preparation.
Improved engagement metrics
For creators, Instagram now provides more detailed engagement metrics. The platform shows exactly how many times the video was viewed the first time and how many times it was repeated.
