Ozon’s revenue in the third quarter of 2023 increased by 77% year-on-year and sales volume (GMV) increased by 140% to 450.8 billion rubles, the company reports.

The market also raised its guidance for full-year 2023. The company expects sales revenue, including services, to grow 90% to 100% year-over-year and full-year 2023 adjusted EBITDA to be positive.

  • GMV in the third quarter increased by 140%, reaching 450.8 billion rubles. The company explains this indicator by an increase in the number of orders and an increase in the average invoice. Thus, orders increased by 134% and reached 251.1 million.
  • The number of active buyers grew by approximately 30% year-on-year and reached 42.4 million users.
  • Revenue showed an increase of 77%; This was influenced by growth in service revenue, particularly marketplace commissions and advertising revenue.
  • Adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter is negative – 3.9 billion rubles, compared to a positive value of 1.6 billion rubles in the third quarter of 2022. This is due to increased strategic investments in acquisition of clients and logistics infrastructure.
  • The loss during the reporting period amounted to 22.1 billion rubles as a result of a decrease in adjusted EBITDA and an increase in financial expenses due to the revaluation of financial instruments and an increase in interest expenses.
  • Net cash flow from operating activities increased by 17 billion rubles to 24.9 billion rubles.
