Autorotation involves giving up collective control, pedal control, and adjusting cyclic control for a safe descent. Skyryse’s autonomous system is designed to simplify this process and perhaps respond faster than a human pilot.

The successful test by Trask and Seguin demonstrated the system’s ability to perform autorotation landings without incident, which could improve helicopter safety and reduce problems associated with one of the most serious scenarios in aviation.
