The Federal Antimonopoly Service opened a case against Yandex for violation of advertising legislation. This is indicated in the FAS message.
We are talking about advertising materials for subscription to the Yandex.Plus service. According to the service, in the advertisement the company indicated a lower cost of the service with a 44% discount. However, this was not true, the FAS concluded.
“When attempting to purchase a subscription at the specified price, the applicant was denied the purchase. Thus, consumers received incorrect information about the cost of the service,” the service explains in a statement.
At the beginning of summer, Yandex attracted the attention of the FAS due to the advertising of dietary supplements without prior notice.
In November, the service opened a case against Alfa Bank. The violations were found in a credit card advertisement whose footnotes were deemed illegible by the service.
