Known as an accessible tool for hackers, Flipper Zero is being used to wreak havoc by sending an incredible amount of fake Bluetooth notifications to iPhones and iPads, causing them to freeze and then reboot.
This attack exploits a vulnerability in the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) pairing sequence widely used across the Apple ecosystem, including technologies such as AirDrop, HandOff, iBeacon, HomeKit, and Apple Watch-related features.
The feature of BLE is the ability to send advertising packets to identify the devices that hackers use by spoofing these packets using Flipper Zero.
Currently the only solution to protect against “Hacker Tamagotchi” attacks is to disable Bluetooth in the settings, but this limits the functionality of the device and is not a satisfactory solution.
