Roszdravnadzor has suspended the use of artificial intelligence when working with CT images. We are talking about the Botkin.AI analysis system, Kommersant learned.

Roszdravnadzor suspended the use of AI services in medicine for the first time

The development was created thanks to investments from Rosatom, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, R-Pharm and Tashir. The department considered that its use could “cause harm to health.”

Botkin.AI received its registration certificate in 2020. But since November 8 of this year, the use of the technology has been suspended and the manufacturer is now being verified. Intellogik itself (the developer of Botkin.AI) did not respond to the publication’s request.

In 2019, Intellogic raised 100 million rubles from various funds and investors. A year later, the company received another 160 million in Series B, whose main investor was Unicorn Capital Partners. The Tashir Medica holding company became a co-investor.

The latter told the publication that they were aware of the suspension of use of Botkin.AI. Unicorn Capital Partners said Intellogic is now “in the process of reorganization.”

In 2020, Intellogik reported that the technology was integrated into a unified radiological information system created by the Moscow City Council to help identify oncology.

Now the capital’s health department told the publication that they do not use Botkin.AI. They listed other AI services being used as part of the experiment in 28 clinical areas. These are the Celsus medical image analysis system, the Third Opinion platform and AIDiagnostic. A total of 50 of these services are used.
