This caused concern because similar delays are not observed when using other browsers such as Google Chrome.
So, one Reddit user showed significant lag when loading YouTube on Firefox. In the video, the service’s page appears to remain blank for several seconds before fully loading.
This goes against the traditional quick access to content that users have come to expect from YouTube.
Interestingly, when you change the Firefox user ID to Chrome, the platform loads without delay. This suggests that the slowdown may be a deliberate move by Google.
Additionally, a “timeout” function was discovered in the video service code that delayed page loading by five seconds. Some think this may be related to the fight against ad blockers.
