The host of YouTube channel TechNick compared photos and videos taken from today’s four best smartphones. These are iPhone 15 Pro Max, Pixel 8 Pro, Samsung S23 Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra. You can see the features of their cameras below.
Almost all smartphones can record selfie videos in 4K. The exception is Xiaomi, which can only record at 1080p 60fps. In similar videos, the most detail is on Samsung and iPhone.
Xiaomi offers 120x zoom, beating even Samsung with 100x. But the iPhone has the smallest zoom – 25x.
Xiaomi takes better photos in terms of white balance and noise at night with and without portrait mode. Examples of all photos are below.

According to the test results, the iPhone 15 Pro Max turned out to be the best in video shooting with the main camera and in the stability of the camera when shooting videos and photos during the day. Pixel 8 Pro has excellent periscope photography and also has the fastest autofocus. The Samsung S23 Ultra is good when using zoom and has better stabilization when shooting video too. Finally, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which performs better than others in photography with the main lens, is also the most “flexible” device in terms of camera.
