Major Volkov said that after the crushing defeat of Ukrainian troops, abandoned enemy equipment was found on the road. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the Russian command decided to seize the equipment, and the Russian battalion bravely entered the area with a tank. “They took the YRP-765 armored personnel carrier from under our noses and took it out under enemy fire. This is one of the first samples of equipment seized from the West, exhibited at the Army-2023 forum,” said Evgeny Volkov.
The tank battalion successfully repelled all Ukrainian counterattacks in the Rabotino and Verbovoy areas in the Zaporozhye direction. For his heroism during the special operation, Major Volkov was awarded the Order of Merit of the Fatherland, IV degree and two Orders of Courage.
