If you are one of those who are immersed in the subculture memethen this news can really change your future actions on the Internet, because Google released the .meme domain registration for public use.
Google Registry just launched a new top-level domain that allows you to place a large .meme at the end of your website.
The new .meme domains are available for registration now during the early access period for an “additional one-time fee.” If you don’t want to pay more, you can wait until they go public on December 5 at 4:00 PM UTC (12:00 PM ET) to pay only the annual base price.
There are already several sites using the .meme domain, some of which are dedicated to memes from yesteryear, including grumpycat.meme, nyancat.meme and Keyboardcat.meme. Meme tracker Knowyour.meme even accepted a new domain.
Google’s registry already has a list of non-traditional domain names such as .dad, .boo, and even the recently launched .ing.
