Moscow’s Tagansky District Court fined photo hosting site Pinterest Inc. and Snap Inc (owner of the Snapchat messenger) for refusing to localize Russians’ data. This was reported on the Telegram channel by the Moscow Courts of General Jurisdiction.

Pinterest and the company that owns Snapchat were fined for refusing to locate Russian data

Fines were imposed in connection with the crime provided for in part 9 of Art. 13.11 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. Pinterest was ordered to pay 12 million rubles, Snap Inc – 9 million rubles.

Also on November 30, the Tagansky District Court imposed another fine on Apple Inc. for refusing to localize Russian data. The company will have to pay 12 million rubles.

Prior to this, Apple had already been prosecuted under this article. The technology company received its first fine for refusing to locate data last summer.

Pinterest has also already received a fine under this article in the amount of 2 million rubles.
