Gainward and Galax had already withdrawn these cards from sale in anticipation of the impact of US export restrictions that went into effect on November 16. Galax found itself in a difficult situation with its 20th Anniversary RTX 4090 Edition released just days before the ban, forcing the company to rethink its marketing materials.
While some companies have voluntarily withdrawn RTX 4090 cards from sale, others such as Gigabyte, MSI and ASUS have yet to follow suit. Nvidia is said to be working on a special version of RTX 4090D to get around these restrictions.
