In January-October 2023, online sales of memory cards for smartphones and drones increased by 70%: 2.9 million units. The market leaders are the American Kingstone, Sandisk and the Chinese Netac, writes Kommersant.
Retailers attribute the growth to strong demand for Chinese smartphones that have an additional slot for memory expansion.
Experts interviewed by Kommersant consider a more important factor to be the use of drone cards and body cameras by participants in a special operation in Ukraine and by security officers.
- The share of Chinese smartphones in the Russian market reached 70% in April 2023. Chinese-made products are popular amid a reduction in supplies from Korea’s Samsung and the American Apple; Now the market leaders are the Chinese Xiaomi and Realme.
- In December 2023, the average price of a smartphone will be approximately 26-27 thousand rubles. This is between 15% and 20% more than last December. The main reason for the increase is the increase in exchange rates.
