In 2024-2026, Sberbank will shift to a human-centric business model and develop “next-generation” artificial intelligence (AI). This was announced by the head of the group, German Gref, at the presentation of Sber’s new strategy, as cited by RBC.
In 2021-2023, the priority of the strategy was the development of the ecosystem. The bank is reported to continue developing it.
According to Sber’s top manager, the bank’s task is to make most decisions automatically based on AI and leave the most complex products “that satisfy the most difficult human needs” to manual operations.
Gref noted that with the help of AI, Sber will transfer “most decisions online”, create an intelligent AI assistant for customers, and also “democratize technology.”
Along with the development of AI, Sberbank aims to provide “the necessary amount of benefits for shareholders and society.” Gref mentioned that Sber’s goal is a return on equity (ROE) of more than 22% and dividends of 50% of net profit according to IFRS.
