Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup X.Ai wants to raise equity capital of up to $1 billion, the company has filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Elon Musk’s AI startup X.Ai wants to raise $1 billion

The company launched the investment round on November 29, to date the amount of funds raised is approximately $135 million. To participate in the round, an investor must invest at least $2 million.

X.Ai was launched in the summer of 2023. The team was joined by former employees of companies specializing in artificial intelligence technologies.

The startup works closely with social network X and Tesla. In November, X.Ai introduced Grok, a chatbot inspired by the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy novels and movie. It is positioned as a bot that not only answers any questions, but also offers consultation options.

Grok is closely related to X, the bot has real-time access to social media data.

Previously, large companies formed an alliance to develop the so-called general artificial intelligence model based on open source code. The alliance includes around 50 companies and organizations, including major universities. Yale, Harvard and others.
