The Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined the TikTok service 800 thousand rubles, reports the Telegram channel of the Moscow Courts of General Jurisdiction.
The court found TikTok Pte.Ltd guilty of committing an offense under Part 2 of Art. 13.50 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure by the owner of a social network to fulfill its obligations to monitor and take measures to limit access to prohibited materials).
The maximum fine provided for in this article is 4 million rubles. This is the amount the court ordered to pay Google late last month.
The sanction was applied because the American company did not remove information from its YouTube platform that the court considered discredited the Russian military.
