When suspicious activity is detected, for example, a client contacts a potential fraudster, the Sberbank Online application automatically displays the message “A fraudster is calling you!” displays a red screen with a warning. The purpose of this warning is to distract the customer and provide the opportunity to instantly contact the bank via the button on the screen.

The purpose of this new feature is to warn customers of potential threats and prevent financial information from being shared with fraudsters who may use it for fraudulent purposes. According to Tsarev, fraudsters make about 8 million calls a day, and protecting customers from this threat is Sberbank’s priority.
