Google has finally offered a solution to the error that disappeared in files saved to Drive. The alternative is not simple but it can help users recover data lost due to synchronization issue in PC application.
The process involves using the recovery tool included in the latest version of Google Drive for Windows or macOS. Period This can be done using the common method or from the system command prompt.
It is worth noting that the process is performed only by the computer. It is not possible to run it on Android and iOS smartphones.
How to use Google Drive recovery tool?
To access the Google Drive recovery tool, you need to:
- Click the Drive icon in the System Tray;
- Hold down the “Shift” button and click “Settings”;
- Select “Recover from backups”.
After the user follows these steps, the application will indicate that the recovery process has started. Once the process is complete, all files will be restored to a new folder called “Google Drive recovery”.
If the method does not work, the user can choose: Restore files via command prompt. The process is a little more complicated and is available on the Google support page.
