Telegram founder Pavel Durov said that the number of Telegram Premium subscribers quadrupled in a year and exceeded 4 million users.
“Telegram Premium, launched less than a year and a half ago, has become the fastest growing paid subscription in the history of messaging applications,” Durov said.
As of December 6, 2022, the number of Telegram Premium subscribers was 1 million.
The messenger began making money in 2022 by introducing a paid subscription to Telegram Premium and adding advertising to the platform.
Users of a paid subscription have access to additional features and functions: for example, integrated advertising is disabled, files up to 4 GB can be uploaded (instead of 2 GB without subscription), download speed is increased, transcribed voice messages, and more.
Messenger allows you to pay for a premium subscription through a tool built into the menu. Currently, the cost of the monthly subscription is 329 rubles, the annual subscription is 2390 rubles.
