Joint mission of Europe and Japan Space Agency (ESA and JAXA)

The spacecraft was launched almost years ago in 2018 to study the problem and Mercuria. On my mission, there are two autonomous spacecraft Bepi and Mio, whose wings are in different orbits.

The closest image of the surface of Mercury was taken with a range of only 200 km. Unfortunately, the lens hit the night, then the strong side of the planet. The next picture was taken after 12 minutes already at a height of 1170 km.

Fragments of the landscape are visible in which there are number craters and other Beagle Roops, tectonic poles, 595 km long, formed during the cooling period of Mercury. Another utility of the study was a crater with a diameter of 217 km, which can remember a lot about the early planets of history.

The next flyby is scheduled for September next year, which is achieved by performing a large amount of preparatory work. After this 2026 date, God was released from an orbiter led by ESA and JAXA, for this purpose, a Japanese-oriented study of the magnetic fields, and a European-oriented study of the geographic features of Mercury.
